Indonesian animal rescuers on Tuesday (April 6) pulled a massive python from the gap between two walls in West Sumatra.

Footage filmed in the city of Bukittinggi showed the rescuers smashing part of a wall to pull the giant reptile to freedom.

The operation took about an hour and the python was released shortly afterwards in its natural habitat.

Indonesian animal rescuers smashed walls to remove the pythons trapped between two walls of the local houses on West Sumatra.

Footage filmed on Tuesday (April 6) at Janjang Gudang in Bukittinggi city, the 10-foot long python was initially spotted in the bathroom attic.

Ranji, 40, said he saw a snake when he went to the bathroom at around 22.00..He thought the snake was wet wood. He only found out that it was a python when the snake moved.

The big snake made Ranji report to the Bukittinggi Reptile Animal Community (B-Reptanic).

Waldi, along with other members of the B-Reptanic rescue team who arrived at the location, lost their pythons and searched them for about two hours.

Pythons finally seen between the walls of two adjacent houses, allegedly descending from the roof and trapped there.

Rescue team, which didn't want to lose the python again, with the approval of the house owner, chose to smash the wall to remove the python.

It took about an hour to get the python's entire body out.
