IOWA COUNTY, Wis. — A driver was cited Sunday after deputies said they were caught going 101 mph in a 55 mph zone and recklessly passing vehicles, including a marked squad car.

The incident occurred Sept. 29 when radar confirmed the black car’s excessive speed. Deputies said the driver’s actions created a dangerous situation for everyone on the road.

The driver was issued a $515 citation, assessed six points, and will face a mandatory court date, after which their license will be suspended.

“Speed limits are in place for everyone’s safety,” Sheriff Michael Peterson said.
